- <p> "My name Jose Jimenez" was a pop catchphrase in the 1960s
- that catapulted Bill Dana to TV stardom. But the comedian
- shelved his shy Latino alter ego to try other voices,
- particularly his own. Once under fire from Hispanic groups as
- being a stereotype, Jose, who also poses as a cook, is coming
- out of retirement this month to do TV ads for a Nashville
- Toyota dealer. Jose, says Dana, now has "an amazing facility
- with English." Still, he probably won't pitch for Jonda or
- Heneral Motors.
